Well I was thinking about questions i've been asked in voice chat rooms that I think are a bit silly, if you stop to think about it. First off, when i go on vipconduit, I usually go in a room by myself as oppossed to going in a room where there is already a group. The primary reason being, maybe if a sit and wait, someone else who like me, doesn't like a huge crowd, but much prefers a small group in a voice chat room, say, 4 or 5 at th emost. I figure if i go in a room and start out by myself, I get to have a nice conversation or 2 before the cliques come in and take it over. Generally, I'm asked what am i doing in there by myself, and I'm honest and tell the truth about it, and sometimes i say, well, nobody starts out in a room where there are several people. Someone has to be in there by themselves until someone else comes in. I've never heard of a room that always has people in it 24 7, so really, this is sort of a sillly question. Then there's the awkward question people ask, who have been talking for a while.They're in to their own thing, and seemingly oblivious and uncaring that others are in the room except themselves, then they suddenly remember you're there and either say,l you're awfully quiet, or, why don't you talk? My usual response is something like, well, i was just letting you folks talk, I don't usually jump in to a conversation unless i've been talking to the people involved for several weeks or months.One reason is, a lot of times i'm just not in to their conversation, lots of times it's simply something i don't know anything about and don't always care about, but I respect the factthat what bores me interests other people a great deal, and vice versa. Sometimes i say, well i don't kinow anything about what you're talking about. Plus, if everyone else is on broadband, and i'm on dial up, it's like an ant wading through a herd of elephants. I'm the ant, and the broad banders are the elephants, so what's the point of even trying?I feel awkward when people suddenly stop and ask me why aren't i talking, because if a topic doesn't interest me, I can't very well say, well you're topic is boring, or doesn't interest me, can I? I imagine a very crude sort of person could do that, but not me. I'm outspoken but not mean, unless someone is mean to me first. Maybe a silly topic, but at least it's original. I don'ot think anyone else has created a topic like this.
